Tracy Summer Classic

Several Placer Teams competed in the Tracy Summer Classic this last weekend and many went home with medals.

The U11B Gold team (coached by Matt Scammacca) faced some tough competition and finished out the tournament in 3rd Place.

The U13 boys White team played some good, strong games at the to reach the final on Sunday afternoon. On Saturday, they began with a tense 0-0 tie with Mustang United. Their second game was a 2-1 win against Atwater Patriots with both goals coming early in the second half from Andrew Ireland and Max Cadden. On Sunday, the team battled a tough and physical team in Solano Sporting but a goal in the dying minutes from Cristien Musson saw Placer through to the final. The final once again had Placer White playing Mustang United and although Placer played hard, they went down to a second half goal from Mustang. Final score 1-0 to Mustang United resulting in a second place finish in the tournament.

The U14B Black team went into the tournament down players, including their goalkeeper. They finished bracket play 1-1-1 (0-1 vs Tracy, 4-1 vs Walnut Creek Diablos and 0-0 vs Elk Grove Everton). This was enough to advance them to the finals where they once again faced Tracy. A hard fought battle resulted in a 0-2 loss and the team claiming 2nd Place.

The U15B Black team competed in their first tournament of the year and pulled in a 2nd place finish after going 3-1 in bracket play. The team shutout their first three opponents (FC Fremont, Bullard FC and Heritage Slammers) and faced South Valley United for the championship.

Finally, the U16B Black team went 1-1-1 (0-3 vs Castro Valley Hotspurs, 3-0 vs Livermore Fuego and 0-0 vs Central Valley United) in bracket play and barely missed advancing to the championship game.
