The mission of the Placer United Recreational Program is to give children in our community the opportunity to be involved in a sport, to provide them with the best possible learning environment, and to teach teamwork and sportsmanship. Placer United’s job is to make soccer fun and create a lifelong passion for the game in young players.
Saturday, March 18th from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Placer United Soccer Indoor Training Center. We invite you to attend so that all your questions about our program can be answered. See you there!
The Placer United Recreational Program focuses on individual technical development, building confidence in young soccer players, improving cognitive development, and increasing imagination by allowing players to learn the game gradually in a fun, engaged environment.
This is recreational soccer with parent-coaches and a focus on fun and development. But unlike many recreational soccer programs, our parent-coaches will be guided and mentored by Placer United’s Recreational Director on how to teach basic soccer fundamentals to players ages 5 through 12. This will ensure a positive experience for parent-coaches and players alike and helps players learn proper technique at the earliest ages.
Coaching education sessions will be conducted by Placer United’s Recreational Director, Emre Gencer. Coach Emre will introduce disguised learning in a variety of games and activities that will have players getting multiple touches on the ball while maintaining a fun soccer experience. Coach Emre holds a United States Soccer Federation National ‘D’ License and Positive Coaching Alliance License.
All parent-coaches will receive a proprietary Placer United coaching manual written specifically to help parent-coaches teach good fundamentals to soccer players age 5 and up.
The following split season format with a summer break makes training the perfect setting for families new to soccer or with multiple soccer players.
Each practice will finish with small-sided games which will harness teamwork and introduce some basic tactical concepts while also developing decision-making.
